Blues co-owner has 'nothing to hide'

David Sullivan has expressed his 'shock' after the Birmingham City co-owner was arrested by City of London Police. Sullivan, along with Blues managing director Karren Brady, was questioned by police as part of the ongoing investigation into corruption in football. But Sullivan is unhappy with the statement released by police and insists he and Brady have 'nothing to hide'. "I'm shocked by the whole thing," said Sullivan.

Complicated tax matter

"The police statement was very unfair. "It is to do with two foreign players and the PAYE on those players. This is a complicated tax matter. "We answered every single question they put to us. We have absolutely nothing to hide. "We have done nothing wrong, and we think in due course this will be proven." Birmingham manager Alex McLeish has already voiced his belief that the off-field issues will not affect the club's bid for Premier League survival.
