Ballotta keen to fight for his place despite new arrivals
Lazio's veteran goalkeeper Marco Ballotta has confirmed he will carry on playing for at least another season.
The 44-year-old already holds the records for being the oldest player to feature in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League.
But he remains the Rome club's first choice shot-stopper despite the arrival of Uruguayan Fernando Muslera in the summer.
Lazio's hopes of signing River Plate's Juan Pablo Carrizo are still being hindered by documentation problems meanwhile, and Ballotta has revealed he is keen to stay.
"I will play for another year, I am enjoying myself too much and I am not really thinking of quitting," he said.
"I should have stopped 10 years ago but I have played another 10. I am happy because it has proved to be the right choice.
"Every year I say it will be my last but then at the end I always return in goal."
