Southampton chairman blasts Lowe and Wilde
Southampton chairman Leon Crouch has hit out the 'appalling timing' of Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde's intention to hold an Extraordinary General Meeting.
Lowe and Wilde intend to call an Extraordinary General Meeting in an attempt to oust a number of the current board, including Crouch, and reclaim control of the football club.
But Crouch, who is required to name the date of the EGM by next Monday, is frustrated that attention is being taken away from Southampton's battle to avoid relegation
"Once again this is appalling timing which does not help our situation ahead of a very important game at home to Burnley," he told the
club's official website.
Disappointed
"We were disappointed to hear of this proposal through the media, not least because we have asked Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde for a formal plan of how they aim to take the club forward and we have yet to receive a response.
"Our sole concern right now is to support Nigel Pearson and the players who have gained some very good results.
"Right now it is business as usual as we aim to secure our Coca-Cola Championship status and we need all supporters and shareholders to get fully behind the team."
