Blackburn chairman John Williams insists that Jason Roberts will not be sold over the summer.

Striker remains part of the plans at Ewood Park

Blackburn chairman John Williams insists that Jason Roberts will not be sold over the summer. The striker has been linked with a host of clubs in the past few months after struggling to hold down a first-team spot during his two-year spell at Ewood Park. He had a transfer request turned down earlier in the season, but has started Rovers last five games helping to quash rumours of a close-season switch to Derby, Sunderland or Bolton.

Best players

"Jason's been on a good run of late and, as far as I'm concerned, he will be with us at the start of next season," Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph. "Certainly at the moment, he's not for sale and we won't be entertaining any approaches for him. "We are not in the process of wanting to lose our best players and Jason comes into that category."
