Ajax have closed to within three points of Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven after a 2-1 win at Groningen.
The match was originally scheduled to take place last Sunday, although it was postponed after fans set fire to paper in the stands.
The game started well for the Amsterdam outfit with Rasmus Lindgren opening the scoring with 19 minutes played.
However, the home side were back on level terms before the interval courtesy of Matias Cahais' effort.
Ajax were not to be denied and kept up the pressure on leaders PSV thanks to Luis Suarez's 66th minute goal.
The win moves Ajax to within striking distance of the Eredivisie leaders, while Groningen stay seventh in the standings.
