Barcelona have quashed talk striker Thierry Henry could return to England next season.

Barca quash unhappy striker talk

Barcelona's vice-president Ferran Soriano has quashed talk Thierry Henry could make a sensational return to England next season. The France international had reportedly been seeking a return to London and had told manager Frank Rijkaard that he wanted to quit the club in the summer. However, Soriano has poured cold water on the talk, stating that he has spoken to the former Arsenal man himself, who has told him he is happy at Barcelona. When asked if Henry could return to England next season, Soriano, speaking on Radio Five Live's Sportsweek programme, said: "I don't think so.

Happy

"I spoke with him at length a week ago and he is happy in Barcelona. "We were a bit disappointed because the team we have is the team to win all competitions and we are not doing very well in the domestic championship. But apart from that he is fine and I'm sure he is not coming back to the UK." Soriano went on to conclude that Henry did not miss the Premier League and that he would still be with the Catalan giants come the start of next season.
