Croatian was unhappy over his treatment
Werder Bremen have reached an agreement with Ivan Klasnic after he filed a lawsuit against the club's doctor.
The Croatian had threatened to take Dr Gotz Dimanski to court over the treatment of his kidney ailment and accused him of 'gross negligence'.
But following a meeting between Werder's director of sport Klaus Allofs, coach Thomas Schaaf, Klasnic and his lawyers, the club insisted the matter had been resolved.
A statement from the Bundesliga outfit read: "We could have better reacted in some situations, the matter has been addressed and cleared up."
There was medical evidence to show Klasnic's kidney was failing as early as 2001 which led to him suffering renal failure at the start of last year.
Klasnic had a first kidney transplant in January 2007 after his mother donated an organ, but his body later rejected it.
A second kidney donated by his father was transplanted in March and Klasnic missed most of last year, only making his return for Bremen in late November 2007.
Klasnic and his wife appeared on German television channel ARD over the weekend and were very critical of the club's handling of the situation.
Klasnic became the first professional footballer to return to international competition following a kidney transplant when he played for Croatia against Scotland in March.
