Thomas could join Palacios and Figueroa at the JJB
Wigan Athletic are close to adding a third Honduran to their squad in the shape of Hendry Thomas.
Wilson Palacios and Maynor Figueroa arrived at the JJB Stadium during January's transfer window and Thomas is expected to follow at the end of the season.
Thomas, a defensive midfielder who currently plays for Olimpia, is tipped to sign a three-year contract with Wigan.
Latics boss Steve Bruce confirmed a deal to bring a third Honduras international to the club is in the pipeline.
Iron in fire
"John Benson (general manager) is in Honduras at the moment trying to tie someone else up for us," Bruce told the
Wigan Observer. "We've got an iron in the fire.
"We're also trying to do a permanent deal for Figueroa."
Thomas underwent a trial with French club Toulouse in the New Year, but the 23-year-old is now due to be given a chance in the Premier League.
