Fulham midfielder ready for relegation showdown
Jimmy Bullard is ready for one of the biggest games of his career as Fulham prepare for their vital relegation showdown against Birmingham.
Defeat for the Cottagers coupled with Bolton or Reading taking a point or more would see them slip into Championship.
But victory would see Roy Hodgson's men continue their remarkable battle against the drop, and could consign the visitors to relegation, depending on results elsewhere.
Absolute cracker
And key midfielder Bullard told the club's
official website: "It's going to be huge, probably one of the biggest games I've ever been involved in.
"You're not going to expect it to be an easy game. Birmingham are in the same position as us, we're breathing down their necks so it's going to be an absolute cracker. The atmosphere will be absolutely brilliant, I should imagine.
"It would be nice to end our last home game on a good note and pay the fans back for how good they've been to us all season.
"They've been there each game and hopefully we can top it off with a good win. As long as we win, you've got to be happy."
The Cottagers gave themselves hope of avoiding the drop by battling back from 2-0 down at Manchester City last weekend, triumphing 3-2 thanks to a late strike from Diomansy Kamara.
Belief
And Bullard revealed how Hodgson's half-time team-talk helped them turn the tide at the City of Manchester Stadium to secure a second win in their last three games.
He said: "The Gaffer put a lot of belief in us at half time. He told us we've got nothing to lose, go out and play and win the second half.
"It was the best result since I've been at Fulham. We knew how much it meant to us afterwards; just scoring in the last couple of minutes to nick the result was massive for us."
