Defender turns down new contract at Swindon
Swindon Town expect Miguel Comminges to join Cardiff City after the defender rejected a new contract.
Comminges joined the Robins on a one-year contract last summer and he has made 47 appearances for Maurice Malpas' side this season.
He was offered a new deal to stay at the County Ground, but has turned down the extension in order to step up a level.
Though there is no official confirmation from the FA Cup finalists, Swindon chief executive Nick Watkins says the versatile stopper will be going to Cardiff.
Watkins told
BBC Radio Wiltshire: "I got a call late Wednesday evening from Maurice Malpas to alert me to the fact that Miguel, after much deliberation, has decided to go to Cardiff.
"It's a great disappointment for us all to lose a player of his quality and standard, but he feels an opportunity in the Championship is too good to resist.
"He had a fabulous offer to stay, we did everything we could within our power to encourage him to stay with the club, but in the end the lure of the Championship was too great."
