Giant striker apologises if his actions came across the wrong way

Nurnberg striker Jan Koller has officially apologised to the club's fans after making appreciative gestures towards Dortmund supporters following Friday's 0-0 draw between the two teams. The point from the goal-less draw in Dortmund keeps Nurnberg in the relegation zone, four points from safety with three games to play. The giant Czech international, who spent five successful seasons with Dortmund, provoked the ire of the Nurnberg supporters by standing in front of the home fans and acknowledging their support after the final whistle. "I am sorry if my actions came over the wrong way," Koller said in an official statement on the club's official website. "I had a successful time in Dortmund and I was happy because the fans still showed their appreciation of me. "Everyone who knows me knows that I always give my all for the club I am with. "I have always done that and will continue doing so here at Nurnberg to ensure that we stay in the Bundesliga," he added.
