Former England player left touched by end-of-season run
Veteran midfielder Darren Anderton has signalled his intention of playing for Bournemouth next term as they try to bounce back to League One.
The Cherries went on an amazing six game winning run to give themselves a hope of surviving the drop to League Two.
But a draw on the last day against Carlisle - combined with Cheltenham's win over Doncaster - condemned them to relegation.
Anderton, who is one of a host of players whose contract is due to expire at the end of June, would like to continue playing next term after their end-of-season heroics.
Hopeful
The 36-year-old former England international told the
Bournemouth Daily Echo: "I'm just hopeful we can keep this group together and, if we do, then I think I'd like to be part of it.
"At the moment, I would have to say I would like to play again next season.
"The past few weeks have been amazing. For me, it's been a privilege to play with the lads."
