Gold and Sullivan threaten to walk away
Birmingham chairman David Gold and co-owner David Sullivan are threatening to walk away from the club.
The duo were targeted by sections of the St Andrews crowd in the wake of the club's relegation back to the Championship for the second time in three years.
Alex McLeish's side did everything they could to stay up as they defeated Blackburn 4-1, but it was all in vain with Fulham securing safety thanks to a 1-0 win at Portsmouth.
Gold looked to be in tears as the final whistle sounded, while Sullivan and his two sons became the subject of some fans' anger.
Speaking to
Sky Sports News, a clearly emotional Gold said: "I was very disappointed today with some of the fans.
"That's the first time in 15 years that I've received that kind of abuse, and I really don't want to be anywhere that I'm not wanted.
"And if I'm not wanted then I think that I'll probably resign."
Abuse
And Sullivan added: "It's a sad end to the season and the reaction from the supporters was awful.
"They want a change, but tell me how we make a change? There's not a queue of people who want to buy the club.
"I don't want to be here any longer. I don't need that, I don't need my kids in tears, I don't need abuse.
"I'd like somebody to buy my shares. Maybe David wants to buy my shares, I'd happily sell them. I'm a willing seller.
"I personally at this moment in time would like to move on."
Gold is hoping that time will prove to be a great healer for both himself and Sullivan, and that they may feel differently once the dust settles.
He added: "At this time I feel very depressed. But I've been here before in my life in other areas and it's amazing, a couple of days on you can bounce back and maybe that will be the case.
"At the moment we are disappointed and depressed, not so much at being relegated, because it happens in life. There can only be one winner."
