Rio Ferdinand has signed a new five-year contract with Manchester United.
The England international centre-back has now committed his future to the Old Trafford outfit until June 2013.
Ferdinand has proved to be an integral part of United's success following his £30million move from Leeds United, helping Sir Alex Ferguson's side to back-to-back Premier League titles.
His partnership with Nemanja Vidic also helped the Red Devils reach the UEFA Champions League final in Moscow on 21st May, where they will face Chelsea.

Ferguson told the club's
official website: "I am delighted Rio has signed a new contract.
"Rio's contribution this season has been a major factor in our outstanding defensive performance.
"Rio has matured into his role at the club and has shown, when needed, what a great captain and leader he can be."
