Striker hopeful over work permit application

Manucho is optimistic of securing a work permit as he prepares to join up with the Manchester United squad in July. The Angola international signed for United in January from Petro Atletico, and was sent out on a three-month loan to Greek giants Panathinaikos. The 25-year-old's initial application for a work permit in January was denied; however Manucho is hopeful of featuring for the Red Devils next season after the club have reapplied for clearance in the summer. Manucho, currently in Angola with the national team, said: "The club is dealing with the work permit process. I have been asked to turn up on 1st July for pre-season. "Since the end of the Greek league, I have been in contact with (United assistant manager Carlos) Queiroz and I know that things are going well. "I am not thinking about wearing a shirt other than that of United. I am just thinking about playing in the UEFA Champions League next season."
