Rovers boss happy to see another side to his team

Sean O'Driscoll praised his team's discipline after Doncaster Rovers clinched promotion to the Championship after a 1-0 win over Leeds United at Wembley. Doncaster secured second-tier football for the first time in 50 years courtesy of James Hayter's diving header in the second half. Rovers have been praised for their style of football in League One this season, but O'Driscoll felt another aspect to his team's game was on show in the play-off final. "We were organised and disciplined," O'Driscoll told Sky Sports. "Everybody knows we can play football and everybody comes out to try and stop us playing, but we've added something else to our game. "We were hard to beat today. We were really organised and disciplined. "We're always going to score. We've got goals from all over the park all season, so we've always got a chance to score a goal if we're organised."

Worked hard

Doncaster finished third in the table in the regular season and O'Driscoll was happy to match the feat of Hull, who finished third in the Championship and beat Bristol City by the only goal in Saturday's play-off final. O'Driscoll added: "I'm pleased for everybody. We finished as the next team that's going to be promoted and we have come out on top against two difficult teams. "We've worked really hard today and Leeds played their part. One goal settled it yesterday and one goal settled it today. "All credit to Leeds. They had a 15-point deduction and then to come this close, you can feel for them."
