Anders Svensson

Anders Svensson is another member of the Sweden squad with Premiership experience. Svensson is now back in his native Sweden after a spell in England. The 31-year-old endured an indifferent spell at Southampton during his four years in England. Svensson made the move to England in 2001 after nine years at Elfsborg, where he won the Swedish Cup. The attacking midfielder made his international debut while at Elfsborg, making a substitute appearance against South Africa in 1999. After helping Sweden qualify for the 2002 World Cup finals Svensson played a key role in their success at Korea/Japan scoring the goal that helped knock out Argentina at the group stages. Despite his struggles to hold down a regular place in the Southampton side he continued to be picked for Sweden and he was a member of the squad that reached Euro 2004 where he played in three of Sweden's four games in Portugal. Svensson suffered relegation with Southampton in 2005 and he quickly left the club, returning to old side Elfsborg. Svensson was a key member of the squad in qualifying for Euro 2008 popping up with two goals in the successful campaign. The attacking midfielder has won over 86 caps for his country and his eye for goal makes him a dangerous opponent for all defences.
