Midfielder remains keen to agree contract extension
Arsenal target Alberto Aquilani has reiterated his wish to stay at Roma and sign a new contract.
The midfielder's agent recently claimed that Arsenal had expressed an interest in taking Aquilani to Emirates Stadium this summer.
Aquilani admitted he was flattered to be linked with other clubs, but revealed his intention to stick with Roma.
Speaking from Italy's training camp ahead of Euro 2008, the 24-year-old reaffirmed his desire to agree a contract extension with his current club.
Difficult to leave
"I'm a Roma player until 2010," Aquilani told reporters.
"I'd like to stay at Roma in the future, but contracts must be done by two parties. I hope there won't be any problems for the renewal.
"At the age of 24 I know that my future is with Roma.
"I've thought only a few times about leaving Roma and it would be very difficult for me.
"In the past I had the possibility to go abroad, but I didn't do it."
