Fiorentina's latest capture Alberto Gilardino has expressed his delight at the move from Milan. The 25-year-old was officially unveiled as a Fiorentina player on Thursday in a deal worth in the region of €13million (£10.4million). Following three successful years with Milan the Italy international is looking forward to enjoying more success in Florence. "I'm happy," he beamed. "It has been a marriage well made from the beginning. "At Milan I experienced three important years winning important trophies and contributing.

Important stage

"Florence is an important stage of my career. I've only just arrived but I have already understood the love of football here." Gilardino will link up again with former coach Cesare Prandelli and Adrian Mutu and he is especially looking forward to partnering ex-Parma colleague Mutu. "With the coach I have a good relationship. I would be pleased to see Mutu again, who I know well," he concluded.
