Midfielder arrives at Clairefontaine amid Vieira concerns

France have called midfielder Mathieu Flamini into their Euro 2008 squad because of concerns over the fitness of captain Patrick Vieira. Flamini impressed for Arsenal last season and is set to join Milan on 1st July after catching the eye of manager Carlo Ancelotti. France boss Raymond Domenech raised a few eyebrows when he omitted Flamini from in his final 23-man squad for this summer's finals in Austria and Switzerland after trimming his initial party of 30. However, with concerns over Vieira - who has been struggling with a thigh injury and has not played in France's last two warm-up games against Ecuador and Paraguay - Domenech has called Flamini to his side's training camp at Clairefontaine. "Flamini is arriving today at Clairefontaine and is added to the 23-man squad," team spokesman Yann Le Guillard said on Monday. France begin their Group C campaign on 9th June against Romania before meeting Holland and Italy.
