Liverpool striker still hurting from Champions League exit
Fernando Torres is hoping to savour a great end to his season by winning Euro 2008 with Spain.
The striker enjoyed a superb debut campaign at Liverpool on a personal note, but saw the club miss out on any silverware.
Torres is haunted by the Reds' UEFA Champions League semi-final exit to Chelsea and is aware he has one last chance to finish the season with a trophy.
Spain start their Euro 2008 challenge against Russia on Tuesday and Torres is heading into the tournament full of confidence.
Bad taste
"I have a lot of confidence following this season, and with a lot of desire to be able to finish the season with a title," said Torres.
"The semi-finals of the Champions League have left a bad taste in the mouth, we were close to winning the Champions League and you could taste what it could be like to win such an important title.
"It was not to be though and now this is the last opportunity to finish with a title of this nature.
"It will be what I have always dreamed of - a great season and a great end."
