Meira expects tough game should they meet Low's men
Portugal are already looking ahead a possible quarter-final meeting with Germany at Euro 2008.
Luiz Felipe Scolari's side have secured top spot in Group A before their final match against Switzerland on Sunday after victories over Turkey and Czech Republic.
They could now meet Joachim Low's side in the last eight, although Germany must avoid defeat in their final Group B game against Austria to secure second place having lost 2-1 to Croatia in their last fixture.
Defender Fernando Meira expects the Germans to bounce back from that defeat and knows they will present tough opponents, should they progress.
Difficulties
"Portugal will always have difficulties with Germany," he said.
"Against Croatia we saw a different Germany than in the first game (against Poland). If we meet Germany, I'm sure it will not be the same team that played (the Croats), they will be stronger.
"If Portugal is on a good day and play all it can, we can beat any team."
But goalkeeper Ricardo warned the focus should not be solely on the Germans as Poland and Austria also have a chance to advance.
"I've seen everything happen in football," Ricardo said. "You never know."
