Greece set for changes

Rehhagel expected to name inexperienced XI

Greece manager Otto Rehhagel is expected to ring the changes in his side's final Euro 2008 Group D game after failing to reach the final stages of the tournament. Defeats to Sweden and Russia mean defending champions Greece will be heading home after Wednesday's meeting with Spain. And with the likes of injured defender Giourkas Seitaridis and striker Fanis Gekas - who fractured a cheekbone in the defeat to Russia - already missing, Rehhagel is expected to name an inexperienced XI at the EM Stadion. And while Alexandros Tziolis, who could fill a spot in Greece's midfield, expects changes, he also believes Greece will bounce back from the disappointment of failing to retain their European Championship title. "The coach has told us that some players who have not yet competed here will be coming into the team," said Tziolis. "In football, major success and major failure should be left behind after 24 hours. "All the players want to enjoy themselves against Spain and want to show off their abilities and skills." Greek Football Association spokesman Michalis Tsapidis has also revealed that playmaker Giorgios Karagounis - who has been carrying a leg injury since the beginning of the tournament - may also be missing. "Giorgios Karagounis is also doubtful," added Tsapidis.
