Spain coach tipped for Turkish move after Euros

Spain coach Luis Aragones will take charge of Turkish giants Fenerbahce after Euro 2008, according to a Spanish newspaper. The 69-year-old, who took up the Spain job in 2004, is believed to be on the verge of signing a two-year deal to become Zico's successor. "The deal seems set and if it has not been made public until now, it is because Luis is leading the Spanish squad at Euro 2008," reported Marca on Tuesday. Aragones is a former Spain international and spent 20 years in club management with a host of Spanish sides before taking charge of the national team following Euro 2004. He was criticised after leaving veteran Real Madrid stiker Raul out of his Euro 2008 squad but Spain have been in impressive form, opening their campaign with Group D wins against Russia and Sweden. Fener are looking for a new coach after Zico failed to agree a new deal. The Brazilian coach took the Istanbul outfit to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals for the first time last season but missed out on the Turkish league title.
