Alberto Aquilani is ready to commit his future to Roma, according to his agent.

Highly-rated midfielder set to snub Liverpool interest

Alberto Aquilani is set to turn down a potential move to Juventus or Liverpool by committing his future to Roma, according to his agent. Highly-rated Aquilani, who is currently on international duty with Italy at Euro 2008, is rumoured to be a target of both Juve and the Reds as the pair seek midfield reinforcements. And the 23-year-old, who is under contract with Roma until 2010, has been hesitant to commit to a new deal at Stadio Olimpico in the past. However, Aquilani's agent, Franco Zavaglia, expects the player to rule out a move away from Roma by agreeing new terms this summer.

Riise tribute

"I expect Alberto to extend his contract after Euro 2008," Zavaglia told sportitalia. "He grew up at this club and he strongly wants to stay here. "In recent times there have been things that have annoyed the lad and in that case it is better not to speak much and to give few interviews." Meanwhile, Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has paid tribute to Aquilani's new Roma team-mate John Arne Riise after the Norwegian left Anfield to move to Italy. "John has been a tremendous servant to Liverpool over many years," Parry told Liverpool's official website. "Everybody at Anfield would now like to wish him all the best in his new career in Italy."
