Turkish giants swoop for Spanish striker
Spain striker Daniel Guiza is on the verge of completing a move from Real Mallorca to Fenerbahce.
The 27-year-old, who is currently on international duty at Euro 2008, had interested a host of Europe's top clubs but is set for a 17.4million euros (£13.7m) switch to Turkey.
Fener travelled to the Spanish training camp in Austria last week to conduct a medical on the forward and are happy to proceed with the deal.
Guiza, who finished the 2007/08 season as the Primera Liga's top scorer, is thought to have agreed a five-year deal with the Turkish giants, but will wait until the end of the European Championship to make an official announcement.
Barcelona, Valencia, and Arsenal were all thought to be keen on the former Getafe star, but were put off by Mallorca's asking price.
Guiza will now join a side hoping to recapture the Turkish crown they surrendered to Galatasaray last season, while continuing their progression into a UEFA Champions League force to be reckoned with.
