Stockport warn interested clubs off swooping for striker
Stockport County assistant manager Peter Ward has insisted that in-demand striker Liam Dickinson is 'definitely not for sale'.
Dickinson has attracted the interest of Championship side Derby County after he netted an impressive 21 goals for The Hatters last season.
However, Stockport are reluctant to part company with their star forward, having already rejected an offer in the region of £250,000 from The Rams.
And Ward has reiterated the club's stance on Dickinson's future, assuring fans that he will remain at Edgeley Park.
Speculation
Ward told the
Stockport Express: "There has been a lot of interest and speculation once again, so when Liam returns from holiday [manager] Jim (Gannon) and myself will sit down and have a chat to him about it.
"People must remember that Liam still has two years left to run on his contract, so as far we're concerned he is definitely not for sale."
He added: "Derby County did put a bid in for him, but to be honest it was a derisory figure."
