Lyon attacker heads to Stade Velodrome to sign contract

Marseille have agreed a deal with Lyon to sign Hatem Ben Arfa after meeting the French champions' asking price. Ben Arfa has been a long-term target for Marseille, but the club had been struggling to agree a fee with Lyon. However, a statement on Marseille's official website has confirmed an offer has been accepted and Ben Arfa will now undergo a medical. "An agreement has been reached between Olympique Lyonnais and l'OM for the permanent transfer of Hatem Ben Arfa," read the statement. "The player will be in Marseille in the next few hours to undergo the traditional medical checks before signing the contract." Earlier on Wednesday, l'OM chairman Pape Diouf expressed his confidence that a deal could be agreed with Lyon. Reports have suggested that Lyon have been demanding 15million euros (£11.8million) for the 21-year-old France international.
