Aussie set for Palace medical
Crystal Palace are closing in on the signing of midfielder Nick Carle from Bristol City.
The Eagles have agreed a fee with City for the Australian and he is now set to undergo a medical at Selhurst Park.
Palace boss Neil Warnock is confident of sealing a deal for the 26-year-old in the next few days.
"We've got him in for his medical and we can hopefully have it all done and dusted some time soon," Warnock told the
Croydon Advertiser.
Warnock is also hoping to agree a permanent deal with Jose Fonte, who impressed on loan from Benfica last season.
"If I get Nick and Jose I still want to get another couple," added Warnock.
Uncertain future
Meanwhile Tony Craig faces an anxious pre-season as Warnock decides the defender's future.
Warnock will scrutinise the left-back's form and fitness in comparison to rivals Clint Hill, who was first-choice last season, and talented youngster Lee Hills.
The 23-year-old has made just 14 appearances for the Eagles after moving from Millwall last summer and ended last season on loan at The Den.
"I'll wait and see how Tony does in pre-season," Warnock told the South
London Press.
"With Clint and Lee here I will have a look and decide whether I keep him, loan him or sell him."
