Hearts miss out on Weiss

Vladimir Weiss has snubbed interest from Hearts to accept the job of Slovakia's new boss.

Matthaus and Santini new names linked

Hearts' search for a new manager has suffered a blow after Vladimir Weiss opted to become Slovakia's new boss. Weiss was believed to be one of the SPL club's top targets to take the helm at Tynecastle after reportedly holding talks with the Edinburgh outfit earlier this month. However, the former Artmedia Bratislava manager has accepted the offer to succeed Jan Kocian as Slovakia's national team boss. Hearts have been hunting for a new manager since January after appointing Stephen Frail on an interim basis. Frail is expected to leave Tynecastle after reportedly being told to stay away from the club's pre-season preparations. The latest names to be linked with the Hearts role are German World Cup winner Lothar Matthaus and former Tottenham boss Jacques Santini.
