Coach departs 'with immediate effect'

Manchester City's first-team coach Derek Fazackerley has left the club "with immediate effect" after more than six years' service. He was brought to the club by Kevin Keegan in 2001 and also worked under Stuart Pearce and Sven-Goran Eriksson. But he has left following the arrival of Mark Hughes from Blackburn at Eastlands. A statement on the club's official website said: "Everybody at the club wishes him well for the future and thanks him for his service over the past six and a half years." Fazackerley was involved with Keegan in the England set-up and was again linked with his old boss when he began his second spell at Newcastle earlier this year.
