Oduro set to train with Malpas' squad in Austria

Swindon Town have offered Ghanaian youngster Akwasi Oduro the chance to earn a contract. Oduro, who currently plays for Beveren in Belgium, has been invited to join the Robins on their pre-season trip to Austria. The 21-year-old can play anywhere on the left-hand side and Swindon boss Maurice Malpas is keen to assess Oduro's ability. Malpas told the Swindon Advertiser: "We are trying to sort out the final details with his agent before we fly out on Wednesday. He will be having a trial with us with a view to our first team. "He plays in Belgium, but is of Ghanaian descent and the initial signs are quite promising. "He has received very good reports and the DVDs we have watched of him have made us want to take another look at him. "We won't get carried away, though, because agents only send us the videos they want us to watch."
