Egyptian star hopes to annul contract
Wigan target Amr Zaki is seeking the assistance of Fifa as he bids to end his dispute with current club Zamalek.
The striker caught the eye with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier in 2008 and is reported to be on the summer shopping list of Latics boss Steve Bruce.
However, Zamalek president Mamdouh Abbas has previously declared that he will prevent the 25-year-old from moving elsewhere.
And after the Egyptian Football Association failed to annul his contract, Zaki - who is claiming Zamalek have not paid his basic salary - has contacted Fifa.
"I cannot understand how (the FA) came to that decision," Shawki told
FilGoal.com.
"Fifa rules state that a player has the right to annul his contract if the club failed to fulfil its terms.
"That's why I have already started contacting Fifa and I am sure we will win the case."
