Burnley new boy relishing challenge
Burnley new boy Remco van der Schaaf has revealed he turned down offers from German clubs in order to move to Turf Moor.
Cardiff had also been interested in the Dutchman, who joined the Clarets on a three-year deal on Monday following his release from Vitesse Arnhem.
But the 29-year-old is happy with his choice and looking forward to the challenge of playing in England.
"I have played all of my career in Holland, but my contract at Vitesse was up this summer and I could have signed another," Van der Schaaf told Burnley's
official website.
"However, I needed a new motivation, so I chose to try elsewhere.
"I had other options in Germany, but playing in England is something special and I am really looking forward to playing in the Championship now at a great club."
