Luton boss vows to stay
Luton boss Mick Harford has vowed to stay at Kenilworth Road despite the League Two club being given a 30-point penalty.
The Football League announced on Thursday that the Hatters had been penalised 20 points for applying to come out of administration, in addition to an earlier 10-point deduction for breaching rules over payments to players' agents.
Luton now face a huge fight to avoid relegation this season but Harford insists he is committed to the club.
Harford has cited the honesty and vision of incoming owners LTFC 2020 as the main reason for his decision.
"I have always loved this club but, over recent months, I have realised how much more I will love it when 2020 finally take ownership," he told the club's
official website.
"I have a great deal of experience in the game but never before have I been so encouraged and enthusiastic about working in such a strong management team.
"I never fail to be impressed by their open and honest approach to this business and I have been made to feel integral to their plans and they have been very supportive to my ideas to regenerate the squad."
Harford is not resigned to failure and maintains that his players' positive mentality will help them avoid the drop.
He explained: "It won't be easy by any means but the team we're building will be strong in character and will rise to the challenge.
"We have to remain resolute and confident we can retain out long history in the league and I will give that commitment to Luton Town Football Club and its fabulous supporters."
