Steven Fletcher is not looking to quit Hibernian, but has been boosted by interest from Real Madrid.

Striker's confidence lifted by Real interest

Steven Fletcher says he is not looking to leave Hibernian, but admits his confidence has been boosted by interest from Real Madrid. The Spanish champions have been trailing Fletcher for several months, with Real rumoured to be prepared to offer £4million. The striker is flattered to have been scouted by Real, but is focusing on the coming season with Hibernian. "People keep asking me if I am staying at Hibs or going to Spain," said Fletcher in the Daily Record. "As things stand, I am not looking to leave in this transfer window.

Massive compliment

"I am still a Hibs player, I have signed a long-term contract and I am looking forward to the season ahead. "The Real Madrid thing has been a massive compliment and it has done wonders for my confidence that they think I am a good player. "I have not heard any more about their interest, but I won't let it go to my head. "There are a lot of elements of my game that I can improve and I just have to get my head down and keep working hard. I feel that Hibs is the right place to continue learning my trade. "I am aware that every goal I score will see my transfer value fluctuate dramatically and hopefully it won't scare any interested teams away."
