Italy captain says he will be at manager Lippi's disposal
Fabio Cannavaro has stated that he will be at Italy manager Marcello Lippi's disposal for the 2010 World Cup.
The Real Madrid centre-back was forced to watch on from the sidelines at Euro 2008 after an ankle injury ruled him out of the tournament.
However, the 34-year-old is looking to his international future under Lippi - who replaced former head coach Roberto Donadoni at the end of June - and is hopeful of competing at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa when Italy defend their title.
"If the coach wants me, I will be there to retain the World Cup in South Africa. I will always make myself available. Always," he told La
Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I will have to work more, as at 35 years of age (in September) everything becomes more complicated. But playing for Italy is a pleasure and an honour. It's unique."
