Czech turned down Leicester for Banik Ostrava move
Mario Licka has revealed he turned down an offer from Leicester City before signing for Czech side Banik Ostrava.
Licka failed to earn a new deal at his former club Southampton and was released by the club at the end of last season.
The Czech midfielder has now joined Banik Ostrava on a two-year contract after snubbing offers from three clubs, including League One side Leicester.
"Three other clubs were in for me: Leicester City, Castellon and PAOK Thessaloniki," he told
www.deniksport.cz.
"I closely considered my options, and decided to sign for Banik. Some people think I made a bad choice.
"Leicester will play in England's third tier and Castellon in Spain's second. Maybe that is why I decided to go to Banik.
"Banik are in the Uefa Cup and I can fight for a place in the international team. I would then like to move a foreign club."
