Port Vale have completed the signing of highly-rated striker Louis Dodds from Leicester.

Striker leaves Foxes

Port Vale have completed the signing of highly-rated striker Louis Dodds from Leicester. The 21-year-old was rumoured to be attracting interest from a host of clubs, but has chosen to join the League Two Valiants. Despite progressing through the youth ranks at the Walkers Stadium he never made a competitive appearance for the Foxes and spent last season on loan at Lincoln. A number of eye-catching performances for the Imps brought him to the attention of those clubs looking to bolster their strike force this summer, and having penned a two-year deal at Vale Park Lee Sinnot is backing the youngster to shine next term.

Pedigree

"It's no secret we have been trying to sign Louis," said Sinnott. "He comes with a good pedigree, a good goalscoring pedigree as well. "Whatever level he has played at, he has scored goals." Dodds was out of contract at Leicester but the two clubs have agreed an undisclosed compensation fee.
