Marlon King is travelling to Humberside to hold talks with Hull City.
The Tigers have agreed terms with Wigan Athletic for the 28-year-old, who is now to hold talks with Hull boss Phil Brown.
Hull, who have already landed six signings this summer, are hoping to persuade King to move across The Pennines.
"We've agreed terms with Wigan and will be talking with the player over the next 48 hours," he told the
Hull Daily Mail.
"It's about getting it right in the transfer market, not doing it quickly."
Hull are also continuing talks with Borussia Dortmund over Delron Buckley.
