Knill pours cold water on move
Morecambe winger Michael Twiss will not be joining hometown club Bury at present.
Shakers boss Alan Knill has poured cold water on the move after holding talks with the player.
The talks came after the 30-year-old former Manchester United trainee struggled to hold down a regular starting spot at Christie Park last season.
But Knill does not want to take the player at present.
Enquiry
He told the club's
official website: "I spoke to (Morecambe manager) Sammy McIlroy because I was on the lookout for a left winger, and Michael can play centre forward as well, and it was just an enquiry really.
"I got permission to speak to Michael so we had a chat. He's a Bury lad and he was all for it, but that was really as far as it went.
"The next thing I know it's all over the internet and on
Sky Sports News. It's not the case.
"At the moment, it won't be going any further."
