Lee Chun-soo has agreed to join Korean side Samsung Blue Wings on a season-long loan deal.
The Feyenoord striker will return to his homeland after an unsuccessful debut season in the Eredivisie.
He only arrived in Holland from Ulsan Hyundai last summer, but struggled to adapt to European football and was restricted to just 12 appearances for the Rotterdam club.
Feyenoord are refusing to give up on the 27-year-old, though, and hope that a spell back in South Korea will see him ready to stake a claim for a regular first-team spot on his return.
"We hope that this move will allow Lee to start playing regular football," Feyenoord's technical director Peter Bosz told the club's
official website.
"We have a plan for how we want Feyenoord to play next season and there is no place for Lee in that.
"We hope that Lee will play well. We will try to follow him closely this year."
