Stoke City have wrapped up the signing of goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen on a free transfer.
The Premier League new boys have been on the lookout for an experienced goalkeeper all summer and have now landed their man on a three-year deal.
Sorensen, 32, left Aston Villa in the summer having fallen down the club's pecking order since Martin O'Neill took charge in the Midlands.
It had looked as though Sunderland goalkeeper Marton Fulop would complete a move to Stoke after a fee was agreed between the two clubs, but the player stalled on accepting terms at the Britannia Stadium.
Stoke boss Tony Pulis trained his sights elsewhere and is delighted to have landed a Danish international of considerable pedigree.
"Thomas is a fantastic acquisition for this football club," he told the club's
official website.
"He has played almost 400 games in the Premier League and been number one for Denmark for a very long time
"The fact that we have got him on a free transfer too is superb business for us, because I believe he is a very, very good goalkeeper."
