Eagles youngster hoping to earn permanent deal
Ashley-Paul Robinson has joined League One side Carlisle for a week-long trial.
The highly-rated teenager is currently on the books of Crystal Palace, but has been told to find a new club by his disgruntled employers.
The midfielder unwittingly revealed on social networking website Facebook earlier this month that he was due to undergo a trial at Premier League Fulham.
Palace were understandably disappointed that this news was leaked by the 18-year-old and have made it clear that he no longer features in their plans.
With the Cottagers seemingly unwilling to take a chance on Robinson he will be hoping for better luck at Brunton Park.
Cumbrians boss John Ward is certainly expecting big things from the youngster and is keen to give him an opportunity to impress as soon as possible.
Opportunity
The United boss told the club's official website: "He's with us for a week, so we'll have a look at what he can do and we can take it from there.
"He's a young man who has played for the first team at Crystal Palace, so we've got him up here to see how he gets on with what we are doing.
"We're looking forward to working with him for the next seven days and then, as I say, we can look at what we want to do after that.
"It's possibly too early for him to play a part on Saturday, at Morecambe, and we'll have to look at how we want to do things at Workington on Monday before we make any kind of decision on that one, so we'll just have to wait and see as far as that is concerned."
