Bolton Wanderers have proposed a swap deal to West Brom regarding Abdoulaye Meite.

Robinson and Greening linked with moves to the Reebok

Bolton Wanderers have proposed a swap deal to West Bromwich Albion regarding Abdoulaye Meite. Premier League new boys West Brom are keen to sign Meite and have already had two bids rejected. Meite's future at the Reebok Stadium is uncertain after he fell out with manager Gary Megson last season. He is wanted by Megson's former club and Bolton have now set out their demands for the Ivory Coast international.

Straight swap

"They made a bid and we didn't accept it, but Phil (Gartside, Bolton chairman) got in contact and asked whether we could do a straight swap," Megson told the Bolton News. "The offer is with them now, so that is where we are with it." Reports have linked both full-back Paul Robinson and midfielder Jonathan Greening with moves to Bolton in exchange for Meite. Baggies boss Tony Mowbray is eager to add to his defence after missing out on the signing of Madjid Bougherra, who opted for Rangers.
