Tottenham look set to miss out on Russia striker

Tottenham target Roman Pavlyuchenko has apparently ruled out a move to White Hart Lane. The Russia striker, reportedly subject of repeated interest from Spurs boss Juande Ramos, impressed with his performances in the Euro 2008 qualifiers and final tournament. Pavlyuchenko formed a fine partnership with Andrei Arshavin for the national team, another man who is rumoured to be a target for the White Hart Lane club. However, the Spartak Moscow forward is quoted in The Mail On Sunday as suggesting that he would not consider a move to Spurs. He said: "I love the Premier League and I would certainly like to play there. "However, if I go to England, I would want to play for Arsenal or Chelsea." Spurs are in the market for at least one new striker after the sale of Robbie Keane to Liverpool, and rumours surrounding a potential move to Manchester United for Dimitar Berbatov refuse to go away.
