Mowbray to look elsewhere after giving up on Meite
West Brom have ended their interest in Bolton defender Abdoulaye Meite.
The Premier League new boys made an enquiry for Meite earlier this week as they look to bolster their defensive options.
However, Bolton snubbed their offer and Baggies boss Tony Mowbray says the deal is 'dead in the water.'
"We made an enquiry for the player but we couldn't reach an agreement so we move on," Mowbray said. "I would suggest it is dead in the water.
"My philosophy when you've got an interest in a player is that you know what your value of that footballer is. If it can't be done, it can't be done, and you move on."
Meite faces an uncertain future at Bolton after falling out with Trotters boss Gary Megson last season.
