Winger out to impress at Quakers

Darlington have taken Ben Muirhead on trial following his departure from Rochdale. Muirhead is a free agent after having his contract at Rochdale cancelled by mutual consent. Darlington boss Dave Penney has held a long-term interest in the tricky winger and is weighing up a move for him. Muirhead will hoping to impress Penney in Tuesday's friendly with Middlesbrough and the player's agent Jesse Learoyd-Hill admitted the former Manchester United youngster is hoping to put himself in the shop window. "Ben is currently on trial at Darlington and he has been training with them for the last few days," Learoyd-Hill told skysports.com. "Dave Penney is an admirer of Ben's and he is keen to have a look at him close-up. "Ben is set to play for 90 minutes against Middlesbrough on Tuesday night and he is hoping to impress Penney and anyone else out there looking for a winger."
