FC Twente are reported to have tabled a bid for Hammarby star Petter Andersson.
The Eredivisie side are gearing up for life in the UEFA Champions League this season, with an intriguing contest against Arsenal awaiting them in the third qualifying round.
As a result, new boss Steve McClaren is looking to piece together a squad capable of challenging the Gunners.
He appears to have identified Sweden international Andersson as a possible option, but is believed to face competition from another Dutch club for the 23-year-old's signature.
"It's correct that Twente have been to watch several matches during the spring," Hammarby spokesman Urban Rybrink told
Expressen.
"But we don't want to comment on whether there is anything serious in that."
