MIdfielder to miss entire season with knee injury
Grimsby Town midfielder Paul Bolland has been ruled out for the season with a knee injury.
Bolland damaged cruciate ligaments during a pre-season friendly with Oldham Athletic and was originally expected to be out for up to three months.
However, a visit to the surgeon has shown up the full extent of the damage and he will play no part in the new League Two campaign.
"It still hasn't sunk in yet - I was completely shocked when I found out yesterday," Bolland told the
Grimsby Telegraph.
"I knew I had done some damage to my cruciate - I learned that after seeing a consultant in Grimsby last week.
"But I never expected this - it rules me out for the season at least."
Bolland, who is in the final year of his contract at Blundell Park, is due to undergo surgery on the injury on Friday.
